Recognition, publicity and the chance to hold a
prestigious award in their hands – these are only a few of the benefits for
participants of the Finat Label Competition 2019. The 39th international label
competition will once again highlight the best of the label print and narrow web
flexible packaging markets. From self-adhesive labels, shrink sleeves, RFID
labels, non-adhesive labels, innovative logistics tag to specially printed
narrow web flexible packaging - there is almost no limit to the ideas of
printing companies.
There are five groups for entries and more than one
possibility to be honoured. In addition to the ‘Best in Show’ Award winner and
Group Awards winner, the jury selects winning companies for individual Category
Awards and will assign Highly Commended Certificates.
Benefits for
participants
In addition to the chance of winning a
distinguished award, companies have a range of advantages if they participate:
winning companies will not only benefit from the expanded exposure for their
products but also the broadened international press coverage.
“Winning the technical group ‘printing processes’
increased our media reach and public awareness due to several publications in
well-recognized journals and social media which also contributed to closer
customer relationships and new orders from existing and new customers”, states
Dr. Benjamin Rüdt von Collenberg, Member of the Management Board at InForm
Etiketten GmbH & Co. KG, the ‘Printing processes’ Group Award Winner in
2018. “Finally, by thoroughly analyzing the submitted end products and studying
the stories behind these products we further developed our knowledge about
individual requirements and specifications of our customers.”
Being part of this competition showing their best
results not only confirms the excellent work and execution of the printer, it
is also a great recognition and good publicity for the designer and customer,
as also ‘Best in Show’ and ‘Marketing/ End-Uses’ Group’ Winner award winner in
2017, Royston Labels, confirms. “Collaborating with a successful European
association such as Finat gave us the opportunity to highlight our unique
skills and innovation within our business”, comments Ivona Baxter, PR &
Marketing Manager at Royston Labels, “In addition to this, being a part of the
wider community gave us access to a wealth of knowledge and
opportunities.”
Winning companies do report from the positive
effects of their successful entry in various issues. “The latest Finat video
for each job awarded is a very useful tool for us. It empowers the recognition
of the award and adds extra value”, emphasises Francesc Egea from IPE Etiqueta,
“Non-Adhesive Group” Award Winner” in 2017. ”We do communicate with our
customer that this award is also their award and also all IPE´s employees feel
proud of being awarded. They are highly motivated to keep innovating and
collaborating with our customer´s projects.”
Plus: Flexible
Packaging
The aim of the annual competition is to showcase
the advantages and uses of self-adhesive labels as an effective marketing,
promotional or identification tool. The best of self-adhesive label print. From
2018, the competition has also promoted the use of narrow web flexible
packaging (press width up to 570 mm / 22.5”) as an additional product range for
label printers.
There is no limit to the number of different
entries a company can submit, but a label can only be entered in one specific
category. A high level of technical competence is expected throughout all
groups.
The trophies for Group, Best in Show and Judges
Award will be presented to the winners during the awards ceremony evening held
during the upcoming European Label Forum, which takes place from 5 to 7 June
2019 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Samples of
Excellence displayed
The Finat Awards 2019 will be presented at the
occasion of Finat’s annual conference, the European Label Forum, to be held
from 5-7 June in Copenhagen. All winners and also highly recommended entries
will be displayed at the three-day event. Group and category winners will also
be displayed on Finat’s stand at Labelexpo Europe 2019. A jury report and press
release will be provided to the trade press and wider labels and packaging
community.
Selected winners will further be entered free of
charge into the L9 World Label Association Competition that will be judged on
that same occasion. Interesting to mention that this is the only route to
entering the L9 competition, as direct entries from individual companies are
not accepted. But not only winning entries, also highly
recommended entries benefit of the press coverage as Finat communicates about
the winning labels throughout the whole industry.
