Del Monte, one of the largest and best known international food brands brought to India by FieldFresh Foods Pvt. Ltd., has added yet another feather to its cap by winning the prestigious India Star 2010 IIP Awards. “India Star Awards” instituted by the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), the premier award amongst country’s packaging fraternity.

The esteemed National Award has been awarded to Del Monte for its multilayer sauce bottles Zingo and Twango under the “Food Packaging Design’ category. The award is recognition of Excellence in packaging design, innovation, technology, pack construction, material usage and environmental concerns. Del Monte’s innovative packaging design was developed by Bangalore-based packaging major Manjushree Technopack Ltd.

The design is not only innovative and attractive but this multi-layered plastic bottle also allows a shelf-life of 6-12 months and allows preservation of sauces’ original flavour and taste, as compared to an ordinary plastic bottles available in the market that only help maintain 4-5 months long shelf-life. The six layers of the multilayered packaging material create a proper barrier to the elements and maintain product taste, qualities and aroma perfectly above and beyond the stated shelf life. Del Monte offers the most varied range of sauces in squeezy packaging, apart from Del Monte Zingo & Twango, Del Monte Tomato Ketchup & Mustard Now are available in a squeezy pack.

Speaking on the occasion, Yogesh Bellani, Business Head, Del Monte Foods Business, FieldFresh Foods Pvt. Ltd said, “It’s a great honor and a significant milestone for Del Monte to receive such a prestigious award in spite of being a new entrant in the market. This award is also a testament of our products quality and our unfailing commitment towards the customers.

Packaging plays a crucial role in increasing consumer interest in Ketchups & Sauces and in creating brand loyalty. With this packaging we wanted to provide the Indian consumers with a novel, attractive and appealing to the eye pack which is easy to use. It also helps in maintaining the original taste and flavor of Del Monte sauces for a longer duration.” He added.
