QuadTech presents portfolio of press control technology and highlight customer successes at Eurasia Packaging 2014

QuadTech, together with their Turkish agent Inpak, are presenting print quality and waste saving solutions for packaging converters, as well as local customer successes, on its stand (Hall 7, Stand 709C) at Eurasia Packaging 2014, 18-21 September, (Tüyap Fair Convention & Congress Center, Istanbul, Turkey).

"This twentieth staging of Eurasia Packaging demonstrates the strength and dynamism of the region's packaging industry," said Stephan Doppelhammer, QuadTech Market Manager for Packaging. "With growing interest from international brands for consistent, fast turnaround packaging, quality demands can be high and margins tight. QuadTech automation can help packaging converters improve profitability and competitiveness by streamlining production.

"Our theme for the show is 'The Power of Better: People + Technology = Solutions‘. This emphasizes the importance of local industry knowledge from our Turkish agent Inpak in combination with QuadTech's automatic, on-the-fly, inspection and color measurement technology for every packaging application."

Highlighted on the QuadTech stand will be systems for flexo, gravure, and offset packaging applications. These include in-line inspection and spectral color measurement and control solutions for films, foils, papers and laminates that reduce make-ready times, accelerate throughput, provide quality assurance and ensure customer satisfaction.

The QuadTech Inspection System inspects 100% of the web 100% of the time, providing total quality assurance. This system is designed to maintain print quality and deliver defect-free output and was recently installed by Arimpeks Aluminium Ltd. (Gebze, Turkey). Chosen for its ability to inspect challenging thin and reflective substrates, the Inspection System was installed on the company's pharmaceutical gravure printing lines. Five months later, Arimpeks says it has reduced waste while increasing print quality, productivity and job turnaround, enabling the company to deliver customers' products to market faster. More information about Arimpeks' successes will be available on the QuadTech stand.

ARİMPEKS also utilizes QuadTech DataCentral for Inspection, a powerful database that stores job, raw material use, and defect information from all inspection equipped machinery on site. Benefits of this system include the ability to show customers consistent results and statistics, as well as the option to control waste removal. For example, with the QuadTech Waste Management System, defective material can be pinpointed and automatically found on the roll on converting processes or in finishing to advance to where removal is needed, saving operator time and valuable substrates.

Offering an integrated in-line solution for color control is the QuadTech Color Quality Solution (CQS). The CQS combines spectral color measurement, ink formulation and dispensing technology. From customer-defined color targets, through X-Rite's Ink Formulation software, to ink dosing, on-press adjustments and until the final printconverters and brand managers are assured that precise color specifications have been met.

A vital component of the CQS is QuadTech's Color Measurement System with SpectralCam HD, which collects in-line, live spectral data and compares it to the customer targets at full press speeds. Any deviations are captured automatically and sent back to the Ink Formulation software for the required ink recipe. This allows the operator to quickly take remedial action, thus reducing waste and press downtime.

Additional options for end-to-end assurance include the QuadTech Web Viewing System that can be used as a stand-alone system, or in conjunction with the Inspection System. The Web Viewing System provides real-time digital viewing of the moving web and has solutions such as barcode verification to keep print accuracy and the press running uninterrupted. QuadTech PDF Verification compares the original customer artwork against a printed copy to verify correct press setup and ensure ultimate print quality.
